DRV8880PWPR is a 45V, 2A bipolar stepping motor driver with current regulation, 1/16th micro-stepping and intelligent tuning functions.

DRV8880 is a bipolar stepping motor driver suitable for industrial applications. The device has two N-channel power MOSFET) H-bridge drivers and a micro-stepping indexer. DRV8880 can drive a full-scale current of up to 2.0A or a root mean square (rms) current of 1.4A (using an appropriate printed circuit board (PCB) grounding layer for heat dissipation, the voltage is 24V, and TA = 25°C).

AutoTune™ can automatically adjust the stepper motor to achieve the best current regulation performance, and can compensate for motor changes and aging problems. In addition, the device also provides three attenuation modes: slow, fast and mixed.

STEP/DIR pin provides a simple control interface. The device can be configured in various stepping modes, from full stepping mode to 1/16th stepping mode. With the dedicated NSEEP pin, the device can provide a low-power sleep mode, thus achieving ultra-low static current standby.

The device has the following built-in protection functions: undervoltage, charge pump failure, overcurrent, short circuit and overheating protection. The fault condition is indicated by the nFAULT pin.
