The latest news, the U.S. government recently funded a MEMS foundry.

On July 1, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that the MEMS foundry RVM received a $6.7 million direct grant to build a new wafer fabrication facility for the construction of a pure MEMS and sensor foundry in Palm Bay, Florida.

RVM plans to nearly triple its manufacturing capacity and expects to ship its first wafers in early 2025.

RVM founder and CEO Jessica Gomez said the facility will be expanded from the West Coast facility in Oregon to a new facility on the Florida Space Coast. It will soon be the first MEMS pure foundry in the industry to offer 300mm capacity".
