Description of DRV8412
DRV841x2 is a high-performance, integrated dual full-bridge motor driver equipped with an advanced protection system.
Thanks to the low RDS(on) of the H-bridge MOSFETs and the intelligent gate drive design, the efficiency of these motor drives can reach up to 97%. This high efficiency allows for the use of smaller power supplies and heat sinks, making these devices highly suitable for energy-saving applications.
DRV841x2 requires two power supplies: one at 12V for GVDD and VDD, and the other up to 50V for PVDD. DRV841x2 can operate at switching frequencies up to 500kHz while still maintaining precise control and high efficiency. These devices also feature an innovative protection system that shields the device from various fault conditions that could damage the system. These protections include short circuit protection, overcurrent protection, undervoltage protection, and two-level overheat protection. DRV841x2 has a current limiting circuit that prevents the device from overcurrent shutdown during load transients such as motor startup. A programmable overcurrent detector enables adjustable current limits and protection levels to meet different motor requirements.
Each half-bridge of DRV841x2 has unique independent power and ground pins. With these pins, current measurement can be provided through external shunt resistors, and multiple motors with different power supply voltage requirements are supported.

·DRV8432 (power pad facing up): Provides up to 2×7A continuous output current (peak value of 2×12A) in dual full bridge mode, and up to 14A continuous current (peak value of 24A) in parallel mode
·PWM operating frequency up to 500kHz
·Integrated self-protection circuit with undervoltage, overheat, overload, and short circuit protection
Programmable cycle-by-cycle current limit protection
·Independent power supply and grounding pins for each half-bridge
Intelligent gate drive and transconductance protection
No external buffer or Schottky diode required
